Environmental
Policy
- The Environment is a top
priority for
Chemical
Recoveries, not only in terms of the fact that we reduce the burden of
industry upon the environment by recovering
and recycling of liquid wastes for further usage, but
also with regards to minimising our own environmental impacts whilst
undertaking the valuable duty of helping other companies to reduce
their impacts. The environment
is at the
forefront
of all decision making processes relating to transport,
storage, and treatment of waste solvents, oils, and water.
- We
have a firm commitment to continual
improvement of environmental performance, using not
only corrective, but also
extensive preventative
measures by way of quality controlled operating procedures, to ensure
that the likelihood of environmental polluting incidents occurring is
as low as practicably possible, and that mechanisms are in place to
minimise the potential impacts of any such incidents, should they
occur.
- Chemical
Recoveries also strive to be as proactive
and anticipatory as possible in the approach we take to
environmental management, by not only complying with environmental
legislation and regulations, but where possible, exceeding
requirements, and insuring best
available techniques be carried out.
- The
benefits of voluntary environmental management system standards are
also recognised, and the international environmental management
standard ISO 14001 along
with the upgrade from IPC to IPPC, are key objectives.
- Other
more specific environmental objectives
are to continue to reduce releases
to land, air, and sewer. Waste
minimisation, energy efficiency, improved housekeeping &
aesthetics, and reduction of resource usage are also goals.
- We
will endeavour to meet these broad objectives by setting short
term targets, that if met, will lead us on along the
path towards achievement of the aforementioned goals.
These targets will be realised by extensive environmental and
process monitoring, periodical audit, and a quarterly management audit
meeting to prioritise, review, discuss, and facilitate progress.
- Communication
of our environmental policy is also central to our environmental
management strategy, ensuring that employees and contractors
understand, and are educated with regards to the nature of our commitment
to the environment.
We also aim to ensure that the environmental policy is not only
available to the wider public, potential and current customers, and
other interested parties via our website, but also that a mechanism
for feedback is in place.
