Consignee Returns

We have a statutory duty (Regulation 54 of the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005) to make Returns to waste producers as to what wastes we have accepted and further what we do with such wastes. These are known as "consignee returns".

We have been one of the pioneers of environmental reporting and since 1997 published data as to what we accept in, what we do with the waste and the fate of the material be it for recovery or disposal - more information on Environmental Reporting

A registered user can log in and see all the records for wastes we have accepted and create reports and print our returns. Log in here.

We email out monthly copies of the returns to registered users and their waste brokers if applicable as we update our systems. If your company is not set up for our online system log in here

Frequently asked Questions about Hazardous Waste Regulation 54 returns (Consignee Returns) and Chemical Recoveries

What is a Section 54 return?

We have received from the site shown on the return a consignment of hazardous waste (as defined under the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005). More details about the regulations available here.

A part of the duties for us under these regulations is to make returns to the consignor/ producer as to what we did with the waste when we received it.

We have developed an electronic system to advise the producer and other parties of this information via email and via a dedicated part of our website

Why have I received an email with a consignee return?

You are registered in our online booking system (ecribs) as a user to get emails of the returns for the site above.

You can view your profile and access more information via our website Here

If you are not the correct person to receive these emails

Please reply to the email and state:

- who we should email the returns too along with their email address

- or advise that you only wish to receive returns by post.

Who else receives copies of this email?

Any copies to more than one recipient will ALWAYS be included as a cc in the email the administrator for the company as setup on our website can control who receives these copies - they, and a "system user", can add extra recipients

If you have used a waste broker to arrange the disposal then they are added to the cc for the email additionally
