RECEPTION FEE

From 16 July 2005, a Reception Fee Charge will apply for receipt of a “Consignment” of waste (hazardous or non-hazardous), in addition to our normal disposal charges. We have to make a fee as we have to pay the Environment Agency a fee for every load, report to them as to what was on the Consignment Note, what we did with the waste and supply reports back to the waste producer.

“Late Booking” and “Non Booking” surcharges are already in place, as advised on our main price lists. The amount of surcharge will remain unchanged. However, the late booking charge will now apply from 5.00pm the previous working day rather than the current criteria of after 10am on the same day. Therefore any load booked in after 5.00 pm for next day or booked the same day will have the late booking surcharge.

What is a CRWAF - C
hemical Recoveries Waste Acceptance Form

In order for us to correctly classify the waste on behalf of the Environment Agency, we require that the details on the consignment note reflect the waste we receive as accurately as possible. This information should be agreed prior to the acceptance of the waste on to our site.

We have introduced a form (CRWAF), which will need to be completed for every waste stream, so that we can ensure we have capacity on site for that particular waste at the time of booking and that when we receive the waste it is as detailed on the CRWAF.

For hazardous waste, the CRWAF requires no more detail than is needed to complete a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note.

How will the Reception Fee be applied
?

When a consignment is booked in, the booking fee above applies to each and every “consignment note” within that consignment, therefore if a load arrives on site which is covered by several consignment notes then the fee will apply to each note.

An example:

A waste broker brings in a vehicle loaded with 10 different drums, from 2 producers and therefore has 2 consignment notes, each with a list attached showing the breakdown of the waste streams. The broker will need to have a CRWAF number for each waste stream and assuming the booking was made before 5.00pm on the previous day, then he would be charged 2 x £35 = £70

Multiple Collections - These only apply to Hazardous Wastes

We have to pay the Environment Agency a fee for each site collected from on a multiple collection. So while there is technically only one consignment note, we will consider each collection made on a Multiple collection round as a “consignment”.

An example:

A waste broker brings in 10 loads of waste oil from 10 sites on a multiple collection round, all of which have a CRWAF and which are booked in by 5.00pm on the day before, the cost will be 10 x £15 per site = £150
