Chemical Recoveries European Waste Catalogue Code Number Lookup

As a service for our customers we have developed a search tool to explain what is the entry for  an EWC code
Enter a 6 digit number in the box below to find out the EWC entry
- no need to add an asterisk if you think waste is hazardous

Every business will need to identify their hazardous waste (and indeed all their waste) with the help of the EWC to categorise their waste with a 6 digit code – these are required in order to complete the consignment notes correctly.

Implementation of the EWC (and Revised Hazardous Waste List) will bring new additions into the Hazardous Waste Regulations (HWR) - the newly hazardous wastes. A few examples:

·  Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT): Televisions and computer
monitors (EWC 16 02 13*)
·  Fluorescent tubes (EWC 20 01 21*)
·  Certain types of batteries (EWC 16 06 ..*/20 01 33*)
·  All oils (except edible), some mineral oils were not hazardous in the past

If you need to locate an EWC code and do not know a number then you can try our EWC wizard page
