Pilot plant for Anaerobic Digester - BIOGAS plant
Pilot Anaerobic Digester Plant Installed.
This is a novel plant for Hazardous liquid waste treatment plants which we
have commissioned at a cost of £20,000.
The idea of the plant is to add a 3rd treatment plant for waste water to
increase the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) reduction in the waters we handle from
the current 70% reduction (we review this annually
click here for the review) to
over 95%.
We will further generate methane in this plant and intend to then take the
methane in the form of Biogas to engines as part of a CHP (combined, heat and
power) to generate around 600 Kw of electricity (twice our own demand) and to
further supply the steam requirements on site (around 9,000,000 kwH per annum).
The pilot plant will run for around 4 months - it is designed to treat 35
litres an hour - the full plant will have to treat around 10,000 litres an hour
and will be somewhat larger...
