Solvent
Recovery and Drummed
Price List – April 2007

What is covered on this Price List

This price list covers any wastes for our Solvent Recovery Plant which is in bulk and for all drums and packages

What do we do with these materials?

We primarily treat liquid wastes – as such we need to be able to pump the waste into and between our treatment tanks.

Assuming we can do this then we will recover the valuable parts as Solvent or Oil and/ or minimise the residues in both volume and hazard.

How do I book in wastes on this price list?

All Loads must be booked into our works at least 24 hours in advance. We can accept most loads 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing they are pre-booked.

Please state producer, date of delivery, volume, price of the order and your Purchase Order Number. If you have our quote reference or CRWAF, please quote that.

What is not included in our price lists?

Bulk waste loads which are non-flammable are covered on a Separate Price list “Oil/ Water/ Sludge Treatment Plants”.

The price lists are intended to cover the typical wastes or products we accept for processing. However we cannot cover the full range or variety so it is intended to provide guidance – a customer will know their material far better than us in the majority of cases and they should be able to fit the waste into one of our categories. If not then send us as much information as possible as to what the waste is, what it was used for and we should be able to help.

There are some materials we will not accept at all in the waste coming onto our site, these include:

·          Any air or water reactive materials

·          Any oxidiser or oxidising waste/ material

·          Any acidic waste with a pH <2.0

·          Any material which would react with or is incompatible with solvents or oils

·          Any radioactive wastes

We can arrange for third party disposal of such materials and undertake all the appropriate transport and documentation.

Do we have any surcharges?

  1. We have a drum surcharge for containers that are plastic of £4.50 per 205 litre container and £2.25 per can – unfortunately they are not recoverable – hence the surcharge.

  1. If a material is described as a liquid and is found to be a solid or sludge, or have more than 20% solids present then a surcharge will apply.

We cannot treat solids wastes and sludge’s that we cannot get into the process and our price list is therefore split into two parts to reflect this. If we cannot empty more than 99% of the waste in the container into our tanks then the portion that remains will be charged as sludge’s or solids pro rata (often as a surcharge) unless otherwise agreed.

3.       Same day bookings (and those received after 5pm on previous day) will incur a surcharge of £20.00. Those not booked in at all will have a booking surcharge of £40.00 per load if we have the capacity to accept the load.

Office hours 8.15am – 5.30pm Mon – Fri.

4.       All rejected loads will be charged at £45.00 per consignment note.

Where are the prices to have the materials recovered for a customer to re-use?

We need to know and agree what the material is and to what specification the customer wishes to re-use a solvent or oil before we can provide a quote. In all cases it will be much more cost effective than simply disposing and using virgin material – we guarantee it.

SOLIDS AND SLUDGE WASTES

In the case of these price lists a solid or sludge is a material we cannot or will not take into our process as the waste, or part of it, would cause us handling problems – we would therefore transfer the waste to third party sites.

We are often asked what this means? – if a drum or container has gloves, rags, metal, parts, helmets, cans, plastic cups,  bottles, tins, powders, (and yes we have seen them all ! ) then they have solids in we cannot process. At the very least those parts will be charged as below. If a drum could be emptied by a vacuum tanker and discharged without pressure through a 1” line then it is not a solid or sludge in this sense – it should be transferred to us by tanker and the liquid waste prices (which are in any case a lot lower) would apply.

PALLETS

We used to price pallets based on the particular wastes that they contained and whether they were liquid or solids etc. We have changed this policy as we found that many loads were not accurately described and in some cases we have to send pallets to specialist companies to process and sort.

We now have a flat price for pallets of waste as below. The pallets must be safe for transport, weigh less than 1 tonne and not be stacked more than 70 cm high. No incompatible materials to be included on the pallet and the contents of the pallets will still need to be individually identified to meet carriage and waste regulations.

All Loads must be booked into our works at least 24 hours in advance: Phone, fax or email sales@chemrec.co.uk

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES – how to agree the tonnes and kilogram’s on each load?

Weight Tickets: If the load does not already have a weight ticket from the producer, then we can arrange for a weight at a nearby facility for a cost of £25.00 per ticket. Alternatively, the weight can be estimated from litres or gallons, which the driver would know and have agreed with the site from which the material was collected, using the procedure below.

The tonnes arrived at will then be used for charging purposes using the agreed price per tonne.

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY HAZARDOUS WASTE CHARGES

A requirement of the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 is that the disposal sites receiving wastes pay the Environment Agency a fee for each consignment they receive. The regulations allow the sites to recover the costs for this and the administration costs from the consignor of the waste.

If we are undertaking the transport then all the hazardous waste consignment costs and fees are included.  If we are not doing the transport then waste reception fees are payable as £45.00 per single consignment and £25.00 per multiple Consignment.

Environment Agency Consignment Notes:
If we are required to provide a pre-completed Consignment Note with the waste details on to a customer or driver then a charge of £10 (including postage and packing) will apply for this.
