RATES FOR DISPOSAL OF SHIPS SLOPS EX PORTBURY/ AVONMOUTH

RATES FOR DISPOSAL OF SHIPS SLOPS

EX PORTBURY/ AVONMOUTH DOCKS - 2002

The prices below are for waste water, oils and slops advised with

at least 24 hours notice. We should be able to provide the service

on shorter notice but would reserve the right to alter the price

 – as the haulage cost may be increased.

The price includes the provision of a vacuum tanker and driver

for the collection of the waste water and oils from the ship.

The standard hose length is 50 feet but could be longer if requested.

Note that the ship prior to collection should have heated all oils - where at all possible.
This speeds up the collection for us and reduces the amount of time and manpower the ship has to dedicate to collections.

PRICE IS CHARGED PER TONNE(S) COLLECTED.

0 to 13 tonnes                £          35

14 to 44 tones                £          30

                                                                        45 tonnes +                   £          24

MINMUM CHARGE

This is £ 425 per ship. Therefore even if only 1 gallon collected the charge would be £425.

The price is per ship and not per day or period. Therefore if a ship was in berth for 3 days and we collected 20 tonnes per day then the lowest rate (£ 24 per tonne) would apply to all the 60 tonnes collected.

We will arrange (and pay where appropriate) for all documentation to meet the Environmental Protection Act 1990 including the Special Waste Regulations 1997.

The price allows for 2 hours for each collection vehicle from the time nominated. If there is a greater volume than expected it should not ordinarily be a problem. If there is a longer delay then we shall charge demurrage at £45 per hour for each hour, or part thereof, after 2 hours at the ship.

We can accept 24 hours a day and at weekends. However our normal operating hours are 0600 to 1800 (Monday to Saturday) and as we are likely to sub-contract the haulage there is likely to be a surcharge outside of these hours - please ask for a firm price if a ship requires collections outside these normal hours.

All disposals will be made at our fully licensed recovery works at Avonmouth. The site is fully licensed by the Environment Agency no: L/BL/P/226B and Authorisation no AG8535. We are also registered waste carriers no: AVN/026303.

Collections from other ports: Sharpeness, Newport carry an extra £50 charge - other ports by request
